International Engineering Consortium Announces Corinex as InfoVision Award Finalist

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - (October 9, 2006) - The International Engineering Consortium (IEC) announced Corinex Communications Corp., and its Medium Voltage (MV) Access Gateway, as a finalist for this year’s InfoVision Awards. Corinex’s current communications technology is the most advanced in Broadband and Powerline (BPL) industry as it enables utilities to reduce their operating costs and offer reliable broadband services to any home in the world.

The IEC Award program recognizes technologies, applications, products, advances, and services judged to be the most unique and beneficial to the telecommunications industry. The Corinex nomination is the latest in a long list of recent Corinex awards in the Powerline Access and In- Home markets, including “Best Product: Digital Home” (US), “Best Product: Digital Home” (Europe), “Best New Technology” from RetailVision US and Europe, “Best Product Line Strategy Award” from Frost & Sullivan. Corinex has a commanding market share (48%) in the Powerline industry, as stated by In-Stat/MDR and Frost & Sullivan.

“Corinex would like to thank all our customers for helping develop the best Powerline products in the world,” said Steve Baker, Corinex Director of Strategic Technology. “Corinex will deliver another major innovation in technology to the market by February 2007. This innovation will make most of the patents in the BPL space obsolete and will secure rapid advancement of BPL in the market,” added Baker.

IEC President John Janowiak stated, “With hundreds of submissions, our awards program gives tribute to those catalyzing positive change in technology, business, and academia, completely in line with the IEC's mission.”

“The Powerline industry has had over $1.2 Billion invested in it over the last 5 years with most of investments turning sour,” stated Brian Donnelly, Corinex Director of Business Development. “Corinex profitable Powerline solutions are not only about 200Mbps speed. Corinex, with products differentiated by advanced designs, modularity, low cost architecture, flexibility, scalability, and ease of implementation, is the best partner to bet on. We will see more money being burnt as companies with 14 and 85Mbps technologies make efforts to move to 200Mbps technology,” added Donnelly.

The Corinex MV Access Gateway was also recently granted FCC Class 15G certification (FCC ID: QIU-CXP-MVA-GWY) and is the only 200Mbps Powerline product shipping in volume to receive such certification.

The 2006 IEC finalists in Access Network Technologies and Services are:

Actelis Networks

ADVA Optical Networking

BT
