Dr. Peter Sobotka founded the Corinex Group, a Slovakian company started with $600 USD, managed it without a bank loan, and grew Corinex to $65M in 9 years, eclipsing IBM Slovakia in sales. In 1999 he founded Corinex Communications, the #1 HomePlug / PLC company in the world according to an In-Stat/MDR 2004 report. Corinex achieved a number of technical distinctions: world’s first independently developed HomePlug product (over powerlines and coax), first HomePlug CE certified product, first HomePlug PLC management software, first to market with 200Mbps Pre-UPA standard in-home powerline equipment, and a leading company in the professional channel with distribution in over 45 countries. Dr. Sobotka is a Board Member of the UPA and Chairman of the UPA Digital Home Standardization Committee, and a member of numerous professional and social associations. Dr. Sobotka has a Ph.D. from the University of Slovakia and was a hired researcher at Texas A&M, Tohoku University (Japan) and Delft Technical University (Netherlands). He has authored over 40 papers on applied and theoretical physics and a book sponsored by Cisco entitled Slovakia on the Threshold of Future (How to convert Slovakia to the next Taiwan or Ireland). Dr. Sobotka is married with 3 children and enjoys hiking, skiing, climbing and tennis. |

General Manager Europe & Senior VP Norbert Benko is the General Manager for Corinex’ European operations, including offices in Belgium, Slovakia, Germany, Sweden, and the UK. He has been with Corinex for 5 years and is one of the first employees of the company. Prior to joining Corinex Europe, Mr. Benko spend 12 years in Australia managing numerous national projects in the telecommunications space. Mr. Benko’s track record speaks for it self as his team was responsible for acquiring Telefonica, Belgacom, PT Luxembourg, Hungarian Telecom (T-Com), and other Tier1 operators as Corinex customers. His team also secured Siemens, Sonepar, Rexel, Enel S.A, Teleste, and other large customers for Corinex Europe. Mr. Benko holds an honors degree in International Trade from Monash University in Melbourne. |

Sam Shi is the CTO for Corinex Communications and is responsible for Research and Development and Product Development. He has been with the company for 4 years and was one of the first employees of the company. Prior to joining Corinex, Mr. Shi worked in various senior development capacities in the telecom industry for companies including Telos and UT Starcom. As a member of Corinex’s executive team for 4 years and a board member, Mr. Shi has helped build the company into the market leader in the Powerline industry. He was instrumental in developing award winning Powerline products and filing of 4 patents for the industry. Mr. Shi holds a degree in Computer Science and Business from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada. |

VP, Marketing & Business Development Brian Donnelly has been managing sales and marketing teams for high technology companies for 16 years. Mr. Donnelly’s innovative sales and marketing programs have helped Skillsoft, Allan Crawford Associates, and Corinex Communications achieve the #1 market share in their respective industries. As a member of Corinex’s executive team for 4 years, Mr. Donnelly has helped build the company into the market leader in the powerline industry with 48% worldwide market share (In-Stat/MDR). He was instrumental in Corinex acquiring multi billion dollar customers such as Best Buy, Graybar, IBM, Ingram Micro, Nokia Siemens Networks, and Telefonica. He was instrumental in developing award winning Powerline products and the filing of 4 patents for innovative Broadband over Powerline technologies. Mr. Donnelly is a board member and Chairman of the Universal Powerline Association (UPA) and the previous Chairman of the UPA Marketing Working Group and a frequent invited speaker on Broadband over Powerline technology. Mr. Donnelly holds an honors degree in Electrical Engineering from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada. |

Sam Morovati has over 10 years of sales and marketing experience in the networking industry including managing regional and international sales teams. Prior to Corinex, Sam built D-Link’s distribution and retail channels in the Middle East and Eastern Europe propelling them into the leading market share. Sam has developed strong partnerships with major international system integrators and other customers in the Telecom, Government, Utility, and Hospitality industries. Sam has been managing Corinex’s sales team for the last 3 years and is responsible for Corinex’s aggressive triple digit growth since 2005. Sam holds a B.Sc degree in Electric and Electronics Engineering and an MBA on Management of Technology from Simon Fraser University. |
